Abusing trust

I think I mentioned before that we had a friend staying with us that had been going through a nasty divorce. Well it turns out that he wasn't just lying, he was massively lying. I'll spare the fine details but he abused his wife and kids (mentally and financially), ran up some massive bills and almost got his wife killed.

He also bad mouthed us, claiming I was dangerous because I have PTSD and guns. I've worked hard to ditch the stigma of PTSD and violence, so that bit cuts pretty deep.

So, MF, if your reading this. I know what you did and what you said. Years ago I would have been in a rage, but not now. I'm hurt that you lied, that you hurt two wonderful children and a fantastic woman. I'm hurt that you abused Veterans Affairs and the VETS charity.

Get help.

Mo, Now Mostly Finished

Yup, he's in his stock and the bolt is bent. I haven't settled on a scope/mount yet, so irons only.

What Happened To Canada?

We now deny refugees access to our health care, temp workers are denied benefits, the welfare system has been tweaked to deny access or force people to relocate and accept mcjobs. We're a bully on the international stage, we support Israel which is South Africa by a different name and we're starting the security theatre.

This is not the nation I served, or swore to protect.

Triggered

One of the units at the local base, RCD by the looks of it has been in town for th elast three days training, So I spent yesterday listening to the trucks, Bison's and Coyote's, which brought back all sorts of memories, good and not so good.

Anyways I thought I heard 5-8 pistol shots today and then someone cocking a weapon a few hours later. Which turned out to be a stapler.

Cowboy Action Shooting

Yup, I've discovered it and now that I've gone through the RPAL course, it's just a matter of time till I pick up some handguns.

Val and I are looking into to it, pricing guns, clothes etc. Currently the plan is for a pair of New Army/Navy 1858 cartridge conversions, in the shortest legal barrel length. Purely to facilitate drawing from the holster, personally I prefer a longer barrel but *shrug*

Character wise, I'm planning of bringing The Dude (aka Jeffery Lebowski) into the 19th century. Fortunately his wardrobe is already pretty basic and he wasn't a man of means so cheap, basic clothes will do nicely.

My stock for the Ranch Hand has arrived, so once the sights get here, it's off to the smith. I'm planning on using it for my CASS rifle and sharing the rounds between it and my 1858's. Anyone with advice, feel free to share.

Remembrance Day 2012

It's hard to keep the anger in check around this time of year. Memories of dead friends come flooding back, my grandfather who died before his time thanks to the war.

The current behaviour of the Conservative Pary and PM Harper that just seems to spit on the dead. My Dad who lost a friend in Cyprus in '72 and will never get any recognition.

They say pain is the bodies way of telling you your still alive. Would be nice if it would go away for a while.

I haven't forgotten about you Donny.

Lest We Forget.
